Angler, Conservationist
Jeff Koppelman was a research biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation for 30 years after working with Dr. David Philipp on fish genetic conservation for three years at the Illinois Natural History Survey. His research programs covered sportfish enhancement, hatchery production alignment with conservation goals, and rare fish assessments, with most involving some aspect of conservation genetics information.
Jeff was involved with the Master Naturalist Program, taught Ichthyology at the University of Missouri, and was responsible for research ponds used to culture rare, hatchery, and game fish species. He retired from the Missouri Department of Conservation in 2016.
