International Mahseer Conference Bhutan
The International Mahseer Conference (IMC) brought together research biologists, resource managers, conservation professionals, and river stakeholders to present the latest research findings and conservation strategies concerning Mahseer species. The conference featured presentations from the international research and management community working on Mahseer, as well as the related topics of migratory fish, river connectivity, research methods, and freshwater biodiversity.
The IMC was hosted by the Fisheries Conservation Foundation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests of Bhutan and World Wildlife Fund – Bhutan and was held at the Zhiwa Ling Heritage Hotel in Paro.
A special thank you to the conference presenters and participants for their engaging discussions and inspirational work to ensure the preservation of Mahseer species throughout their range. We are especially grateful to the sponsors of the IMC who made this event such a success.
