Vincent Jalabert

Myanmar Fly Fishing Project and The School of Fly Fishing–Yangon

Vincent holds a Master Degree in Sustainable Development & Urban Planning. After graduating with his degree in 1997 in France, he began his career working for the French Government before joining international NGOs in 2000. For the following 8 years, he worked in 5 countries managing multimillion dollar projects.

In 2008, following cyclone Nargis, Vincent joined Save the Children in Myanmar as a Regional Program Manager to participate in the relief efforts. He managed 12 offices and up to 500 staffs across a range of different projects on various themes, transferring strong project management and leadership skills to his staff until 2012.

Vincent then joined The Green Vision Group of Companies in January 2014 as Business Director to support the development of activities in the Real Estate sector in Myanmar.

In 2018, after 10 years in Myanmar, Vincent founded The Myanmar Fly Fishing Project with the aim to structure the whole fly fishing economic ecosystem in Myanmar based on community-managed fly fishing destinations in both salt water and fresh water. In December 2020 he founded “The School of Fly Fishing – Yangon,” the first-ever fly fishing school to open in the country.

Finally, Vincent is a passionate fly fisher with over 35 years of fly fishing experience, thriving to transmit his passion to Myanmar anglers and local communities alike; Vincent believes that fly fishing tourism can successfully contribute to the sustainable management and conservation of natural resources while supporting local communities in remote areas in providing them with sustainable economic opportunities.
