Former Executive Director, American Fisheries Society

Doug Austen has been working in the conservation field for over 35 years.  From 2013 to 2024, he served as Executive Director of the American Fisheries Society.  Prior positions have included executive director of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Landscape Conservation Cooperative with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, IL Dept of Natural Resources and the IL Natural History Survey.  Doug received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University, M.S. from Virginia Tech and B.S. degree from South Dakota State University.
